What is hypnotherapy?
Do you know that you go in to trances every day? What do you think you’re doing when you’re ‘day dreaming’ and closed off to what’s going on around you or just before you go to sleep at night or on waking up in the morning feeling relaxed, slowly bringing yourself back to full awareness; these are examples of hypnotic trances. Many people, when they think of being hypnotised, automatically think of stage hypnosis where people are put in to a trance and made to run about like a chicken, eat onions or dance around naked…no wonder some people are scared.
The truth is: NO, you won’t be made to think you’re a chicken or wake up naked eating an onion; below are something’s you should know:
• You are NOT asleep
• You are NOT unconscious
• YOU WON’T do anything you don’t want to do
• You DON’T lose control or be under someone’s spell
Hypnosis is quite simply a deep state of relaxation that actually heightens your sense of awareness and allows you to be more receptive to only those suggestions which will benefit you.
What happens during a session?
A full discussion on the client’s issue/s is discussed after which the client is led in to a very relaxed state, this is known as hypnosis; client’s permission is always sought before any session begins to ensure clarity. Although in a very relaxed state, you are aware off and hear everything that is said and have complete control. Using information provided by the client, the client is then set to work, being guided by me, using only the information provided by client, to begin the necessary changes that will get them to where they want to be; only the client has the answer to that statement.
